Liability insurance premiums have increased significantly in recent years, making it difficult for programs to protect their businesses and the families that they serve. In 2024, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) surveyed program directors about their liability insurance troubles and found that 80% of programs surveyed saw an increase in their liability insurance premiums, with 30% being hit with an increase of up to $1,999. Program owners also reported a decrease in liability insurance limits (36%), difficulty finding or affording liability insurance at all (62%), and being denied coverage (32%).

With thin profit margins, health benefits are just as cost-prohibitive for early learning programs, if not more. Seventy-eight percent of employees would find a new job if the benefits they receive from their current employer don’t meet their needs (Nezich, 2024). Health benefits are effective recruitment and retention tools, but many employers cannot afford them, contributing to the early learning workforce’s high turnover rate.

TrueNorth offers customizable business insurance and health benefits to help your program thrive.
